Wareham police arrest man after road rage incidence involving knife

On Wednesday, July 3, at 1:15 p.m., Wareham Police responded to Plymouth Avenue for a reported disturbance with a knife involved. At the scene, officers determined that there was a disturbance between two males following a road rage incident.

Edward Robinson, 45, of East Wareham, was reported to have jumped from a car, punched the other male twice, grabbed him by the hair, and slammed his head into the hood of a car several times. A neighbor who witnessed the incident then came out of his house trying to assist the man being attacked. At this point, it was reported that Robinson now armed himself with a knife threating the second male, before fleeing the scene on foot.

Within a few minutes Robinson was located and placed under arrest by Officers Steven Joy and Charles Pillsbury.

Robinson is charged as follows;

1. Assault with a dangerous weapon.
2. Vandalizing property.
3. Assault and battery with a dangerous weapon.
4. Assault and battery
5. Malicious damage to a motor vehicle.

He was transported to police headquarters for booking before being taken to Wareham District Court.
