Wareham police arrest man twice within a day

On Tuesday, February 18th, at 12:50 a.m. Wareham Police Officer Eric Machado located a vehicle running with a male sitting in it, at the parking lot of C.W. Bishop Avenue. Upon further investigation, it appeared that the male was under the influence of alcohol, and an ambulance was requested to the scene. Michael Pina (34), of no certain address, was transported to Tobey Hospital and is being summoned to court for:

• Operating under the influence 3rd offense
• Operating with a revoked license
• Possessing an open container of alcohol in a motor vehicle

Later, at 2:30 p.m., Officers Calib Larue, Jennifer Braley, and Lorenzo Grosso responded to Walmart for a report of a suspicious male. Mr. Pina was observed in an aisle by Officer Larue eating a sandwich that he had not paid for. Officer Larue placed Mr. Pina in custody for shoplifting and was also aware that two warrants had been issued for his arrest. He was held pending an appearance at Wareham District Court on Wednesday morning.
