The three men were held pending the arraignment in Fall River District Court this morning.

Early this morning, at approximately 1:45 a.m., Troop D Communications received a 9-1-1 call from a 24-year-old Bradford man, who stated he had been stabbed and carjacked on I-195 Eastbound in Swansea, then thrown from his vehicle. Troopers from the State Police Barracks in Dartmouth responded to the area. Trooper Neal Cadorette responded and located the victim on the side of the road.

The victim reported to troopers that he was driving three men from Rhode Island back to Fall River when, after an argument, he was stabbed twice and thrown from the vehicle onto I-195. The victim had to roll out of the travel lane to avoid being struck by a passing vehicle.

A “BOLO” — or “Be On the LookOut” alert — was broadcast to area law enforcement with the description of the suspects . A short time later, Sergeant Irma Teves, assigned as the Troop D Patrol Supervisor, located the 1996 Ford Crown Victoria driving on Davol Street in Fall River. Sergeant Teves stopped the vehicle as it pulled into a local convenience store parking lot.

As a result of an investigation, three occupants of the vehicle were placed under arrest and taken to the State Police Barracks in Dartmouth for booking. Troopers located a knife under a floor mat in the back seat. They are identified and charged as follows.

NATHANIEL F. PIRES, 21, of Fall River, charged with the following:
Receiving stolen motor vehicle
Assault & battery with dangerous weapon
Armed carjacking

ABNER S. JUAREZ, 23, of Fall River was charged with the following:

KEVIN T. FRAGOSO, 21, of Fall River was charged with the following:
