Five Great Places to Play Pool In New Bedford

image_pdfimage_print

Veterans of Foreign War (VFW)
281 Appleton St New Bedford, MA 02745 (508) 995-3610

A common misconception is that the VFW facilities and bar are for military veterans only and closed to the public. They are all open to the public. With that being said, there is only one table there, but it is very well kept and plays straight and true. The table is also well lit and they have fairly good house cues. New Bedford’s VFW also seem to have the lowest drink prices around town.

  3. Hi John, I love the game, but am rusty and shy. Years ago I’d hold the table and the guys hated losing competition to a woman. Anyway, could you advise a place where I won’t be watched because I tend to attract attention being 6′ tall and I just want to practice. I find pool to be one of my favorite vents, but my friends aren’t interested.

  4. Libads Seaside on Brock Ave is a great place. Table was just refelted and new cues were also added. It has drop down lighting and free pool on Thursday nights. They also have the best pizza around !!! Def a must try !!
