This morning at approximately 2:40am south end units were sent to the 7-11 at 1024 Cove Rd. on a hold up alarm. Upon arrival it was determined that the 20 yr. old male clerk was the victim of an unarmed robbery and he was not harmed.

The suspect entered the store, grabbed a candy bar, and approached the register. After several demands for money, the victim fearing for his safety, opened the register and the suspect reached in and grabbed a handful of an undisclosed amount of money.

As he was leaving the establishment, two customers tackled him but he was able to break free and flee on foot towards Rodney French Blvd.

In the process, the customers were able to retrieve some of the money and return it to the clerk.

He is described as a light skinned male about 5-10 who walked into the business with a red shirt around his neck.

During the struggle, the red shirt, a white towel, and his sandals were left behind. The items have been collected as evidence.
