At approximately 5:15pm on Sunday evening, the New Bedford Police Department responded to reports of shots fired near Ashley Park.
Police units arrived to Bolton Street at San Paulo’s Bar and discovered an unidentified male with a gunshot wound to the abdomen. He was rushed to St. Luke’s Hospital and his condition is currently unknown. One suspect was taken into custody.
Over the course of the next 2 hours police could be seen going in and out of several homes on Bolton Street. This section of the city is notorious for thefts, shootings, stabbings, and other crimes.
