New Bedford Police Department seize narcotics, firearm, make multiple arrests in night raids

“New Bedford police detectives have seized cocaine, fentanyl, cash, and a firearm in two separate Tuesday night raids.

On November 1st, detectives executed a search warrant at 228 ½ State St., apt. #2. The target of the search warrant was KEITH BASS, 42. During a subsequent search, detectives located approximately 50 grams of cocaine, 11.7 grams of fentanyl, and $5,653 in US currency which was seized as a result of the nature of his charges. BASS was taken into custody and charged with trafficking cocaine and fentanyl.

BASS has been found guilty of drug distribution in the past, last convicted of fentanyl distribution in New Bedford district court in 2020. The fact that these new charges are considered subsequent offenses may result in BASS facing stiffer penalties.

The investigating officer was Detective Nathaniel Almeida.

Also on November 1, 2022, detectives executed a search warrant at 226 Sawyer St, Apt. #2. The target of the search warrant was ARIES ROSS, 27. Detectives located approximately 9 grams of cocaine, 36 grams of fentanyl, oxycodone, ecstasy, and a Walther P22 loaded with 9 rounds of ammunition, the serial numbers of which were obliterated. $810 in US currency was also located and seized as a result of the nature of the charges.

Two other individuals residing in the apartment were also arrested. They were identified as ROSS’s girlfriend, Ms. LIZA FIGUEROA-SANTIAGO, 24, and KENNY GEDEON, 21.

ROSS and FIGUEROA SANTIAGO were arrested and charged with trafficking fentanyl, possession of cocaine with intent to distribute, and conspiracy to violate the controlled substance laws.

GEDEON was charged with illegal possession of a firearm with the serial numbers obliterated, illegal possession of ammunition, and possession of class B substance.
