From the New Bedford Police Department:

“We are so proud of Sgt. Michael Cassidy, who saved the life of a cashier at Market Basket while he was off duty and shopping Aug. 31. The cashier was completely unresponsive when Sgt. Cassidy was called over to check on her. He immediately started life-saving efforts and revived her. She is alive and well and able to enjoy life thanks to Sgt. Cassidy. He was honored Thursday night by the City Council for his heroism. We couldn’t be more proud.”
