At approximately 1:15am, New Bedford Police received a 911 call of a home invasion in the North End.

Upon arrival, the Phillips Avenue residence (next to the old Rainbow’s End bar) of the reported home invasion immediately cordoned off a crime scene and began to canvas the area.

Eyewitnesses reported four males speaking Spanish had kicked down the door of a second-floor apartment and that one shot had been fired.

This is a developing story that will be updated throughout the day.
