City of New Bedford issues public notice for unauthorized drone activity

PUBLIC NOTICE – UNAUTHORIZED DRONE ACTIVITY:/

For the safety of flight and those on the ground, we kindly ask that Drone operators in the New Bedford area review the following information:

Modern Drone technology has the capability of interfering with established flight paths for aircraft in the vicinity of New Bedford. As such, operations within a 5 Nautical Mile Radius of the Airport are strictly prohibited unless prior authorization from the FAA (using LAANC) is received. Violation of this 5 Nautical Mile “NO FLY ZONE” is a Federal Offense that carries severe penalties.

Operations outside of the NO FLY ZONE are limited to a maximum altitude of 400 Feet and operators should follow best practices before, during, and after launch.”-New Bedford Regional Airport.
