“Last evening, south end fire companies responded to two structure fires. The first structure fire occurred at 7:12pm at 22 County Street. Fire crews quickly extinguished a fire involving a couch. There were no reported injuries and the fire caused is under investigation by the NBFD Fire Investigation Unit.
The second structure fire occurred at 11:15pm at 31 Margin Street. Engine 6 arrived and reported a large volume of fire in the rear of this two-story, single family wood-frame residence. The fire involved a propane cylinder in close proximity to the rear of the residence. A neighbor alerted the residents to the fire and they were able to evacuate safely. A neighbor’s shed sustained slight heat damage and there was no extension inside the home.
There were no reported injuries and the fire cause is being investigated by the NBFD Fire Investigation Unit.”-New Bedford Fire Department.
