“The New Bedford Fire Department is pleased to announce the acquisition of a new Pierce Enforcer 100’ Aerial.

This aerial will become the new Ladder 4 at Station 8 and is expected to be delivered within three months. The truck is currently at Pierce Manufacturing in Appleton, Wisconsin undergoing customization and lettering. Thank you to Mayor Jon Mitchell and the City Council for approving and funding this purchase.

This is a stock Pierce aerial with a tandem rear axle and no tank or pump. It is equipped with a heavy-duty steel aerial rated for use in 50mph winds. Its total outrigger spread is only 12’ making it ideal for narrow streets with vehicles parked on either side.

Each outrigger can be viewed through a camera by the chauffeur to ensure its placement prior to deployment. The aerial master stream is equipped with a standpipe connection. This apparatus features high intensity, low profile LED scene lights and a 10 kilowatt generator with electric cord reels on each side. There are many other options and equipment that will enable our firefighters to protect the lives and property of our citizens and visitors.

Thank you as well to Bill O’Connor and Scott Smith from Allegiance Fire & Rescue for their assistance and support with our new aerial truck.”
