New Bedford adds five new officers to the police force

On Tuesday, August 13th, five New Bedford Police recruits graduated from the Reading Police Academy after completing an intense academic and physical fitness training that lasted just over five months.

The academy prepared these officers for their new endeavor as law enforcement officers in the City of New Bedford.

The new officers were also sworn in on Tuesday, taking their oath as the newest members of the New Bedford Police Department. Mayor Jonathan Mitchell and City Councilor Joseph Lopes were in attendance, both providing a speech at the ceremony.

The new officers are; Officer Tyler Vieira, Officer Brandon Duarte, Officer Alan Kubik, Officer Christopher Los, and Officer Alexandria Richards.
