“At 6:31 this morning calls were received for a reported fire at 118-120 County St with occupants in the building.

On arrival the crews of E6 and L3 reported heavy smoke on first and second floors. The crews advanced hose lines to locate the fire while conducting a search for tenants on the second and third floor apartments. L3 conducted search making entry through second floor windows.

This mixed use occupancy consisted of Tony’s Bar and Cafe on the first floor and four residential units above. All tenants safely evacuated prior to FD arrival. The building has suffered a partial collapse and crews were withdrawn to defensive exterior operations.

At this time they are still fighting active fire. Two firefighters were transported to St. Luke’s hospital with minor injuries by NB EMS. There were no civilian injuries reported.”-New Bedford Fire Department.
