Massachusetts State Police Trooper rescues scared pups from center median during busy traffic

“One day last month, Trooper Casey Gilbert, who is assigned to our High Risk Victims Unit, observed two German Shepherds on the side of Route 291 in Springfield.

The scared pups were on the center median during busy midday traffic. Trooper Gilbert, along with a Good Samaritan, helped get the dogs safely out of the median strip and took them to the State Police-Springfield Barracks.

The precious pups — whom we soon learned were named Susie and Louie — were reunited with their owners a short time later.

Thank you, Trooper Gilbert and the civilian who assisted her, for going the extra mile to keep these guys safe.”-Massachusetts State Police.

  1. So happy to hear of your kind hearted officer. To think, there could have been such a different outcome.
