Massachusetts State Police pull body from the Charles River near Forte Park

At approximately 8:00pm Saturday night two passersby who were out walking called police to report a body floating in the Charles River in Newton.

Investigators pulled the body from the river and identified him as 43-year-old Mynor Vasquez-Vega, a member of the local homeless community,.

A post-mortem examination by the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner is pending. The investigation into the death is ongoing and is being conducted by the State Police Detective Unit for Middlesex County, the State Police Troop H Detective Unit, and the State Police Crime Scene Services Section.
