As part of its celebration of Sunday’s National Superhero Day, the Friends of Jack Foundation last week recognized the staff and students at the Carlos Pacheco Elementary School in New Bedford. The New Bedford-based non-profit visited the school to help distribute superhero bags and pencils to all the students, and provided food and superhero capes for the staff. The Friends of Jack also dropped off a number of new toys which the staff uses throughout the year as an incentive for students’ positive behavior.
