Box truck flips onto SUV and a bizarre accident in Norton

At approximately 2:30pm on Thursday, Norton Police and Fire Departments, and EMS received multiple calls about a box truck that was resting on its side with part of it on top of an SUV.

First responders raced to the scene of the accident on East Main Street and Burt Street in Norton to find that indeed a box truck with “Yale Appliance” on the side of it was on its side and resting on top of a red SUV.

A preliminary investigation suggests that the box truck was heading west on Main Street and swerved to avoid a vehicle turning left onto Burt Street when it veered off the road, hit a tree, went up on two wheels and was about to fall on its side when it landed on the red SUV that was about to turn.

The box truck had two passengers who were transported to an area hospital with minor injuries. The sole passenger of the red SUV
was uninjured.
