“A 49-year-old New Bedford cocaine trafficker with a lengthy record of drug dealing was sentence to serve five to six years in state prison, Bristol County District Attorney Thomas M. Quinn III announced.

Demingo Browning pleaded guilty in Fall River Superior Court to an indictment charging him with trafficking in excess of 36 grams of cocaine.

On November 9, 2021, New Bedford Police Detective Timothy Soares concluded an investigation into a cocaine distribution service being operated out of the defendant’s apartment at 98 Liberty Street. On that date, Soares and others officers executed a search warrant at the apartment and located a large bag of cocaine, weighing 110 grams on the defendant’s couch. Police also found digital scales, cut corner baggies and packaging materials.

The case was prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney Steve Butts and the state prison sentence was imposed by Judge Brian Glenny.

“The defendant is a repeat drug dealer who continues to traffick in narcotics. He needs to be kept off the street to protect the public,” District Attorney Quinn said.”-Bristol County District Attorney Thomas M. Quinn III.
