“A 33-year-old New Bedford narcotics trafficker was sentenced to serve two to three years in state prison last week, Bristol County District Attorney Thomas M. Quinn III announced.
Randall Pollard pled guilty in Fall River Superior Court to indictments charging him with Trafficking Cocaine, Possession with Intent to Distribute MDMA, Possession with Intent to Distribute Oxycodone and Possession with Intent to Distribute Suboxone.
On September 16, 2019, members of the New Bedford Police Drug Unit concluded a cocaine distribution service investigation and obtained a search warrant for the defendant’s Smith Street apartment. Upon execution of the warrant, officers found 40 grams of cocaine, 50 Oxycodone pills, 10 Suboxone strips, seven pills of MDMA and a bag of powdered MDMA. Police also seized $5,951 in cash, along with various items commonly used in the packaging of narcotics for street sale.
The case was prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney Steve Butts and the state prison sentence was imposed by Judge Raffi Yessayan.
“This is another example of a defendant profiting off of selling drugs to people in our communities who are addicted. The state prison sentence was warranted,” District Attorney Quinn said.”
