Bicycle, Property Auction at New Bedford Police HQs (10:00am-1:00pm)
The New Bedford Police Department is hosting an auction of bicycles and other unclaimed property at 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 22 at New Bedford Police headquarters, 871 Rockdale Ave. All items are in “as is” condition. Purchases must be made with cash only and those attending must present valid identification to register for bidding.

Costume Recycling at the Gleason Family YMCA (ALL DAY)
Recycled costumes will get a new life this Halloween. Many costumes are used only once and they still have life left in them, so we have created a recycling program to offer families a chance to purchase a reasonably priced costume this Halloween. We are looking for clean, gently used costumes that you will donate to this recycling program and in return you can get a voucher for $3 towards the purchase of another recycled costume at our Recycled Costume Sale on Saturday October 13th. Or if you are just looking to get rid of your old costumes as you clean out the house, please consider donating them today. Clean, gently used costumes can be dropped off at the Welcome Center Desk until October 12th. Reduce, Re-Use Recycle! Gleason Family YMCA, 33 Charge Pond Road, Wareham.

New Bedford Farmers Market- Clasky Common Park (10:00am-2:00pm)
Open every Saturday at Clasky Common Park from 10-2pm from June-October offering a large variety of local farm fresh fruit & vegetables! Credit, Debit, SNAP, & HIP benefits accepted!

Wampanoag Day at Aptucxet (Bourne) (11:00am-3:00pm)
Experience local Native American history and culture at Wampanoag Day at the Aptucxet Museum on the Cape Cod Canal with hands-on activities for children and adults including long bow demonstrations, Wampum demonstrations and traditional Wampanoag crafts to make and take. There will be Native American craft vendors and native food available for sale along with the grill offering hamburgers and hotdogs. The highlight of the day will be dancing led by the Wampanoag Nation Singers and Dancers which begins at 2:00pm.

Admission is $5 for adults, $2 for children and $10 for a family. Native people in regalia will be admitted for free. This event is open to the public and will be held rain or shine!

Captain Jack Peterson Dog Park’s Community Open House w/ Local Celebrity Dunk Tank (12:00pm-5:00pm)
Anyone interested in becoming a member can try out the park before they purchase a membership and a FOB. Visitors will be asked to sign a waiver of liability, show proof of current vaccinations, proof their dog has been spayed or neutered. And No retractable leashes are allowed. Registration will take place before entering the park.

Come out and see how much fun the dog park is for dogs and their owners. We will have a Dunk Tank with Mayor Jon Mitchell, Ward 6 Councilor Joe Lopes, and former Ward 3 Councilor Henry Bousquet. The entrance to enjoy the park will be FREE, but we will be accepting donations to help our local dog shelters in the area. Park hours: 7AM – 8PM – 7 days a week. Park location – Hathaway Blvd between Ruggles and Greenwood St.

Gallery X Presents The Art of Scott Carola (5:00pm-8:00pm)
Scott Carola is a lifelong resident of New Bedford. Over the past several years he has re-ignited his passion for artwork and honed his skills as a pencil artist, working in graphite, colored pencil and pastel. He is a former corrections officer of the old Ash St. Jail, and current Detective Lieutenant of the New Bedford Police Department.

“The Story Thus Far” is a show about just that; a retrospective of the last 5 years with original works he refuses to part with and prints of fan favorites that earned him the following he has today. Come check out what Carola has been up to, as we prepare to send him off into hyperspace with what comes next. 169 William St, New Bedford. “Stepping Out” Band at PUB6T5 (9:00pm-1:00am)
Steppin’ Out is a six piece band * consisting of a female vocalist, bass, sax, drums, guitar and keyboards. The music covered by the group includes selections from the 40’s through to today. A strong emphasis is directed toward the hits. “Party/Dance” material. We try to get to all the music types, classics from every decade.
