Join the Parks, Recreations & Beaches Department Saturday December 6, 2014 from 2pm-5pm for holiday crafts, winter sports activities, a hot cocoa bar, and holiday movies as well as other fun activities. In the spirit of giving, the Andrea McCoy recreation center will open its doors to offer free family recreation at a Winter Wonderland Holiday Celebration. Families will have the opportunity to continue the giving through gift making activities.
This event provides fun and educational activities for the price of a donation of warm hats, gloves and scarves which will then be given to the homeless. The Winter Wonderland event will transform the Andrea McCoy Recreation Center gymnasium into a winter wonderland, complete with snowball fights, snowman making activities, and a number of gift making stations for the family.
Each activity will be organized and overseen by student volunteers and interns from the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth or an Andrea McCoy staff member.
This event is free and open to the entire family. Andrea McCoy Recreation Center is located at 181 Hillman Street, New Bedford, MA 02740. Doors will open at 2pm sharp.
