On Thursday evening (4/10/14) at approximately 6pm members of the Organized Crime Intelligence Bureau executed a search warrant at a Nye Street apartment.
The targets of the investigation were taken into custody outside of the home without incident. Once a search commenced, detectives found a loaded .380 caliber handgun inside of a sweatshirt in the bedroom of the occupants. The firearm was loaded with 5 rounds of ammunition. Neither person has a license to carry firearms.
Scheduled to be arraigned this morning in New Bedford district court:
Nathaniel DePina age 24 of New Bedford.
– Unlawful possession of a firearm
– Unlawful possession of a firearm (third offense)
– Unlawful possession of ammunition
– Career Criminal
Maegan Ann Brume age 21 of New Bedford.
– Unlawful possession of a firearm
– Unlawful possession of ammunition
21 years old and looks 40. This city is going to crap with these criminals and junkies. The good people are leaving this city and crap like these two are moving in. Many of these criminals are coming here from dorchester, jamaica plain and other places in the boston area. This city will only get worse my friends.
Yes, I left NB 10 years ago and glad of it. I know many wonderful people there. But I agree with you about the criminals and junkies. I am happy and living in Florida now, not that it is a bed of roses but it is much better than where I was.
That’s pretty ignorant! I am born and raised in Boston and now currently living in New Bedford , and prior to living here I had never encountered such shifty people. I am a productive member of my community and there are many others like myself here. It does not matter where people are from, that doesn’t dictate their behavior!
