Massachusetts Police Department investigating after Swastikas found on resident’s lawn

” Chief James McIntyre reports that the Stoneham Police Department is investigating after a resident located pieces of paper cut into the shape of swastikas on their property.

At 8:46 a.m. today, Stoneham Police were dispatched to a home on Whittemore Lane for a report of vandalism. Upon arrival, officers initiated an on-scene investigation through which they determined that several paper swastikas with hateful language were left on the victim’s property.

Stoneham Police detectives are actively investigating this incident. An aggressive police investigation has been undertaken, and detectives do not believe this incident was random.

“There is no place for this kind of hate and bigotry in our community,” Chief McIntyre said. “Our detectives are committed to a full and thorough investigation, including any possible criminal charges against the party responsible.”

Chief McIntyre has been in contact with the Anti-Defamation League New England, with whose leadership team, including Regional Director Robert Trestan, will support the Department and community during this investigation.
