Multiple Massachusetts Fire Departments respond to house that explodes in Truro

“At approximately 11:30 p.m. on Thursday, April 20, 2023, the Truro Fire & Rescue Department, along with firefighters from neighboring towns,including Eastham, Orleans, Wellfleet, Barnstable, Yarmouth, Mashpee, Sandwic,h and Hyannis, responded to a large structural fire located at 8A Harding’s Way in Truro.

The explosion could be felt as far away as Brewster, said Chief Timothy Collins. The home was unoccupied at the time of the explosion and no injuries were reported. Firefighters were successful in preventing the fire from spreading to nearby properties, however, multiple homes sustained exterior damage. The home is considered a complete loss.

The cause of the explosion and fire has not yet been determined and is currently under review by the Massachusetts Fire Marshal.”-Town of Truro.
