The mission of School on Wheels of Massachusetts is to educate children impacted by homelessness by providing academic support and one-on-one mentoring so children can reach their full potential. Our main program is one-on-one tutoring at shelters and schools. We are currently seeking a Site Coordinator at the Harbour House shelter in New Bedford. The Site Coordinator supervises the tutors and students at a particular site, and is the connection among shelter/school staff, children and families, tutors, and School on Wheels staff.

Unemployment in New Bedford always seems to be twice the state average. As of April, 2013, the Massachusetts unemployment rate was at 6.4% and New Bedford’s sat at 12.5%. The Ocean Explorium is an ambitious initiative designed to meet the needs of students and our community in the 21st Century. As a comprehensive marine science education center, the Ocean Explorium uses a series of living aquatic environments, interactive exhibits and numerous outreach initiatives to promote a broader and deeper understanding of our local waters and the ocean beyond as the catalyst to interest learners of all ages in the STEM fields of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics.

Media/Marketing:  update/edit organization’s website, manage social media marketing including facebook, e-newsletter and blogs
