On Sunday January 22, 2017 at approximately 5:40 p.m. Rochester Police responded to a residence on Mary’s Pond Road for a breaking and entering in progress. Upon arrival, with the assistance of the homeowner, officers arrested 27 year old David Breton Jr. of Cornell Street New Bedford.

The homeowner told police he had arrived home and noticed a screen window in the front of his house had been broken out. While inside the house the resident heard a noise coming from another room. The homeowner went to investigate, and observed Breton who was dressed in a black hooded sweatshirt, black sweatpants, and black shoes in his house. The homeowner confronted Breton, who jumped from a window onto the lawn. The homeowner chased him through the yard and was able to detain him until officers arrived on scene.

On scene Breton told police that he parked his vehicle around the corner and confessed to walking over to the residence to conduct the break in. He was then transported back to the Rochester Police Station for booking.

Breton was arraigned this morning at Wareham District Court on the charges of breaking and entering in the night time, malicious destruction of property over $250, disturbing the peace, and disorderly conduct.
