New Bedford EMS, Police and Fire Departments respond to fire at single-family home on Ashley Blvd.

“Early yesterday at 10:30am, a 911 call was received from a passerby reporting smoke coming from the windows of a single family home located at 1203 Ashley Blvd.

Fire crews forced entry and located a room and contents fire which was confined to a bedroom. No one home at time of the fire. The one story residence sustained smoke and water damage and the American Red Cross is assisting three displaced residents. The cause of the fire is being investigated by the NBFD Fire Investigation Unit.

NBEMS and NBPD also responded. There were no firefighter injuries.”-New Bedford Fire Department.
