Greater New Bedford commute expected to be impacted by snow Thursday morning

A cold front will plow through greater New Bedford today bringing with it rain that will switch over to snow late Wednesday night into Thursday.

An expected 1-3″ will cover the South Coast with slightly higher amounts being dumped west of New Bedford. While temperatures will be in the mid-40s, winds will be strong enough to create a “feels-like” temperature of 14 degrees.

While snowfall amounts aren’t enough to be too concerned about when it comes to shoveling or breaking out the snow thrower, the time timing of it will be smack dab in the middle of Thursday morning’s work commute.

After that passes, some frigid air will move into the region Thursday night causing temperatures to plummet into the single digits.
