School crossing guard hit by vehicle in Wareham

This morning at approximately 7:00 am, Wareham police officers and EMS personnel responded to the report of a pedestrian struck by a motor vehicle on Marion Rd. (Rte. 6) in the area of Viking Drive.

Upon arrival, officers noticed the school crossing guard, a 59 year old female, had been struck by a vehicle driven by a 76 year old male Wareham resident who remained at the scene and reported the incident to responding officers.

The injured female sustained reported non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to Rhode Island Hospital by Wareham EMS.
